Wednesday 7th February - bike *** – Ferry Felixstowe for a picnic – mainly cloudy and cooler.

After a few mild and windy days the wind has eased down and it is a little cooler so was able to do my exercises and as we were visiting some friends late in the afternoon we had plenty of time to do something. We decided to pack a picnic and bike down to have lunch by the River Deben at the Ferry. It was nice to be out on the bikes again as they are not used much in the winter as most of our routes are too muddy and boy did it rain last night with more tomorrow. We were down on the prom at 12.30 with just brief glimpse of sunshine and I should have put my gloves on as much cooler, we made our way along the fairly busy prom to The Fludyers and around to the quietier section at The Dip before enjoying our picnic at our spot by the Deben entrance as the tide whizzed out. Then onto the Ferry for a quick trip around the boat yard, asking about calor gas for our van before taking the quickest route back across the golf course.
